Adaptive Vocal Techqniques
Adaptive Vocal Techniques is an approach to singing that is based on solid fundamentals. LeRoy has incorporated what he has learned from extensive studies in many different techniques. There are many different philosophies about singing and not all techniques are the right choice for all singers. From the age of 8 years old, LeRoy has devoted much of his life to studying vocal technique. He travelled to Europe, studying in Italy and France. He studied the art of Bel Canto, the Italian school of singing with Giorgio Tozzi, musical interpretation with Natalie Limonick, German Lieder with Hans Hotter, and French singing style with Regine Crespin and Janine Reiss to name a few. LeRoy studied techniques in Opera and Music Theater in New York City where he lived for nearly a decade and in Hollywood, he studied singing techniques such as Speech Level Singing for Pop, Rock, R&B and Jazz. There are many techniques with different names and variations of the same idea and/or approach. Some of these techniques are healthy and safe, while others can be damaging to the voice. Some techniques are misunderstood or misused. Techniques like Vocal Breathiness, or Straight Tone Singing can often be misused, creating a crutch or mannerism for the singer. These are vocal effects that should be used judiciously and never used as techniques in and of themselves. Pulling down on the face to affect the color of the voice, or singing with the jaw or chin protruding forward, High Larynx or Stiffened Flat Tongue are all dangerous techniques, or they are signs of tension or a lack of understanding and coordination of good breathing technique. LeRoy’s Adaptive Vocal Techniques are safe, healthy and methodical …adaptive to your needs, your style. They incorporate the best of all possible approaches to singing, techniques that he has learned from professionals all over the world …techniques that bring about a healthy and natural way for you to sing right now!
